3 Questions to ask yourself to find the right program:

Where do you want to travel?

Is there a specific country or region that calls your name? Do you want to visit one of our Asian neighbours? Would you rather be at the beach, in the rainforest, on the mountains, or in the desert? Think about whether or not you want to travel far away from home or stay within the Asia-Pacific region. While one-week programs are feasible for closer destinations, if you are travelling further afield, you may want to consider two- and three-week programs or connecting multiple programs. Then, search through the country section in this catalogue to see what programs are offered in the region of your interest.

What do I want to experience?

What do you want to see, learn, or do on your trip? Do you want to complete a service project, make new friends, learn a new skill, or go on a wild adventure? Most of our programs offer a variety of activities, but some programs are more specific than others, and offer deeper content and engagement. Though most of our programs have a service component, we also have programs for learners, thrill-seekers, and sight-seekers. Remember to look for your interests in the titles. Most programs that are focused on a specific activity such as surfing, photography, or scuba diving, have titles that contain those activities.

How can I have an impact?

Consider whether you want to volunteer with other people, with animals, or with nature. Would you like to run a holiday program for youth or teach and tutor students? Would you like to help build a home for a deserving local resident, or help bring running water to an underserved community? Would you like to get your hands dirty on a reforestation project or be hands-on with wildlife conservation efforts? Our programs are centred around specific types of service projects, so take some time to think about what you would enjoy working on, where your skill sets lie, and how much service you want to do.

An exciting aspect of our programs is the opportunity to visit multiple countries during the same trip. Many programs have been designed to interconnect and almost all of our trips can be combined. Educators – if you are looking for a group program for your school, please ask us about designing a custom itinerary. We can mix-and-match experiences, service projects and countries to create a program that meets your timeframe and budget. If it is possible, we will make it happen!
