Our Australian Staff
Sam Murray
Director - Australia
Sam joined Rustic Pathways in 2008 after working in outdoor education for 10 years. He serves as director for both inbound and outbound operations in Australia. With education degrees from La Trobe and Monash universities, Sam’s passion for travel and experiential education inspires him to provide innovative programs for students. He lives near Melbourne with his wife and family.
Alanah Guy
Group Travel & Staffing Coordinator
Alanah’s passion for educational travel is contagious and she live for adventure. From close encounters with grizzly bears, diving with sharks in the Galapagos, trekking through the Sumatran jungle in search of tigers and orangutans, and sand boarding down volcanos in Nicaragua - there isn’t much she won’t do! It’s these experiences that have inspired her to help young people step out into the world.
Our International Staff
Rustic Pathways spans the globe! While the cultural traditions and accents of our staff vary from country to country, the shared values that define Rustic Pathways and make us exceptional extend across all borders. We build leadership teams that pair international staff members with local employees, resulting in diverse teams that blend an understanding of our students and their needs with deep local knowledge.
Exceptional Program Leaders
Our Program Leaders come with backgrounds in teaching, experiential education, psychology, wilderness training, river rafting, international development, and other outdoor and educational fields. Each year, both new and returning staff complete an online and in-country training to uphold our standards in safety, student learning, community service, and the overall student experience. Our Program Leaders are incredible role models for our students and most importantly, they are all dedicated to creating the best possible experiences for our students.
