Pat Taedaengpetch

Southeast Asia Regional Director

For 15 years, Pat has brought his professionalism, knowledge of Buddhism, zany sense of humor, cheerful nature, and love of adventure to our team. An experienced computer engineer, a talented photographer, a former Buddhist monk, and a fully licensed tour guide, Pat is a true Rustic Pathways all- star and one of our most beloved global directors.

Bryan Haggerty

Thailand Country Director

Bryan studied philosophy at Saint Michael’s College before moving to Southeast Asia where he has lived and worked for the last decade. Prior to joining Rustic, he spent three years teaching at Chiang Mai University and volunteering for an NGO that advocates for ethnic minority groups in the region. Bryan speaks fluent Thai, and has managed our Thailand operations since 2008.

Kadum Sanboon

Ricefields Service Base Director

A devout Buddhist, Kadum spent six years as a monk before joining Rustic Pathways where he has lovingly managed our Ricefields Base for more than 10 years. With extensive travel throughout 14 countries, fluency in three languages, and an intimate knowledge of our global operations, Kadum is one of the most experienced and respected members of our team.

Panuwat ‘Maha’ Noikamkong

Ricefields Service Base Manager

Maha joined Rustic Pathways in 2004 after spending 12 years as a Buddhist monk. He has an advanced degree in Buddhist philosophy, speaks four Asian languages, is fluent in English, and has managed the Ricefields Base for several years. One of the expert leaders of the Buddhist Life Project, Maha has deep community service experience in Thailand and Laos.


Keegan Kennedy

Southeast Asia Groups & Gap Year Manager

Keegan has been teaching, studying, and researching in Thailand for the last eight years. Originally from northern California, he recently completed his master’s thesis on the effects of forest fires on floral and fungal communities. Keegan is fluent in both written and spoken Thai and Lao, and brings his deep knowledge of local ecosystems to Rustic programs year-round.

John Cody

Ricefields Base Manager

John graduated from Providence College and has been living in Thailand since 2013. He taught conversational English at public high schools before his start at Rustic Pathways in the summer of 2015, where he has since been program leading throughout Southeast Asia. He is the youngest of nine children and enjoys reading, running, and photography.

Kannika ‘Kookkai’ Songphinit

Reservations Manager

Born and raised next door to our Ricefields Base, Kookai grew up playing with Rustic students from a young age. She is a graduate of Sripratum University in Bangkok with a degree in international business management, and is working toward a law degree at Ramkhamhaeng University. Kookai works out of our Chiang Mai office where she manages all hotel and transportation bookings for our programs.

Min Soe ‘Bao Joe’ San

Burma & Thailand Senior Program Manager

A law student at the University of Taungngu, Bao Joe hails from a small fishing village between Yangon and Mandalay. He speaks exceptional English and enjoys teaching others about the warm culture of the Burmese people. Bao Joe leads trips in both Burma and Thailand each year, and he provides a great bridge between these uniquely different cultures.

Veerayut ‘Ched’ Supadee

Thailand Senior Program Manager

This soft-spoken, easy-going Udon Thani native is a favorite with all. Ched leads the Medical Service program at the Ricefields Base and also works wonders to keep all of our animal friends here healthy. With experience running specialized technical service and Gap Year programs in both Laos and Thailand, Ched is one of the most versatile members of our team.

Fahmai Chaisu

Thailand Senior Reservation Officer

Fahmai is from Phrae, a beautiful northern province of Thailand. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business English from Rachamungala University in Chiang Mai. Fahmai is a talented photographer and musician. She helps coordinate students’ travel at Chiang Mai airport and handles our accommodations and transportation for our operations in Thailand.

Richard Cross

Thailand Program Manager

Originally from the UK, Richard worked on programs for young people in Switzerland, Hawai’i, the Amazon, and across SE Asia. He has a degree in social science and geography from Cardiff University and Open University UK, and is interested in deepening his understanding of international social issues. Richard is always excited to share his experiences in SE Asia with new visitors.

Dan O’Connor

Thailand Logistics and Program Manager

Dan grew up on the north shore of Massachusetts and attended Skidmore College in New York. After graduating in economics and German, he lived in Europe for a year. Dan has led Rustic programs for two years and is currently our logistics manager in Thailand. In his spare time, he continues learning German and Thai and enjoys playing chess and soccer.

Wanlapa ‘Nan’ Loedbunlattana

Children’s Home Program Manager

Nan grew up in a small rice farming village outside of Mae Sariang, and moved to the Baan Rai School at an early age to get her education. As someone who grew up away from her parents and persevered to earn an education, she has become a great role model for the students at Rustic Pathways Children’s Home. A lifelong learner, Nan is also furthering her studies by attending the local adult school.

Katie Mixon

Thailand Program Manager

Katie holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theater, and a bachelor’s degree in zoo animal science. She first joined Rustic applying her passion for animal care to our programs at Steve Irwin Zoo in Australia, before managing our elephant programs in SE Asia. Katie’s knowledge of conservation-based issues and warm personality make her valuable asset in SE Asia.
